Get started on Mac
- Open Hotstash. A flame icon appears in the menu bar. There's no Dock icon.
- Copy anything as usual with ⌘C. Hotstash saves every copy.
- Press ⌘⇧V in any app to open your history. Type to search.
- Press Return to copy the selected item, then ⌘V to paste it.
Get started on iPhone
- Install Hotstash from the App Store with the same Apple Account as your Mac. Your purchase carries over.
- Make sure iCloud is on. Settings in Hotstash shows whether sync is working, and why not if it isn't.
- Add the keyboard: Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard → Hotstash. Turn on Allow Full Access so the keyboard can show your history.
- In any app, hold the globe key and pick Hotstash. Tap an item to insert it.
iOS doesn't let any app read the clipboard in the background, so on iPhone Hotstash saves what you copied when you open the app or the Hotstash keyboard, share text to it, or tap Save Clipboard in Control Center. Copies from your Mac arrive automatically. How it works, and tips.

Paste Stack
⌘-click several items in the panel and start a Paste Stack. Every ⌘V then pastes the next item. When you click into a field labelled Email, Phone, or Website, or one that matches a name you gave an item, that item is staged first. Copy something new mid-stack and it pastes next, then the stack continues.
Paste Stack needs Accessibility access (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility → Hotstash) so it can notice ⌘V. It listens only while a stack is running. On iPhone, build the stack in the app and paste from the Hotstash keyboard.

Questions
Hotstash doesn't appear after I open it
Look for the flame icon at the top right of the menu bar, or press ⌘⇧V.
How do I pin, name, or file an item?
On Mac, right-click an item for Pin, Name, and Move to Folder. On iPhone, swipe right to pin, or tap ⋯ for everything else.
My history isn't the same on Mac and iPhone
Both devices must use the same Apple Account with iCloud on, and both need the latest Hotstash. Open Hotstash on each device and give it a few minutes on Wi-Fi. If the iPhone's Settings shows sync as off, it says why.
How do I unlock or restore Pro?
Buy Pro from Settings → About (Mac) or Settings (iPhone). To restore, use Restore Purchase there while signed in to the Apple Account you bought it with.
How do I clear my history?
Use Clear History in the panel (Mac) or the ⋯ menu on the Clipboard tab (iPhone). Pinned items and folders are kept. Clearing syncs to your other devices.
Does Hotstash save passwords?
On the Mac, copies that password managers mark as passwords are skipped, and you can exclude any app in Settings. On both devices, verification codes are removed 10 minutes after you copy them.
Can I import from another clipboard manager?
Yes: Settings → General → Import from Maccy, or Import from Raycast (using a Raycast settings export and its passphrase).
